“Perfect holiday house, a home away from home.”

I stayed in this house with my fiancee and group of friends. 11 of us in total. I would highly recommend to stay in this house. If this house is not for you then at least stay at a Black Bear Property house run by Desmond. No request was to hard for Desmond. Normally this house is for 8 people or 10 if you want to use the traditional Japanese room. We had an extra close friend try to tag along at last minute and it was no trouble for Desmond to organise another bed be put in to accomodate our request. We still felt like we had plenty of room despite having 11 in the house. Our internet stopped working halfway through the stay and Desmond had someone come and fix it that morning and when the problem couldnt be rectified a portable internet modem was brought in to make sure we had WI-FI our whole stay. No problem was to great. Desmond also organised all our ski gear hire and did a shop for us so that when we arrived our fridge was full. It meant we could hit the slopes as soon as possible. Desmond also picked us up from the train station and dropped us off with all our luggage which was a lot considering all of us had big suitcases and snowboards. It meant no taxy fair, no standing around figuring out how we were going to get to our accomodation considering we didn't know the address and a guided tour on the way to our house. As Desmond said 'All part of the service' LaTata house was also a great location being walking distance 50m to the bus stop for the slopes and on the mainstreet for all the restraunts, bars and the shop for all your groceries. Definitely a trip I would recommend and do again myself.

“Great house in a great location with a white Christmas”

We were a group of 9 being brother and sister with families in tow. My lot comprised 2 adult daughters, one accompanied with her boyfriend. My brother and sister-in-law have 3 children 18, 16 & 13. The 5 bedrooms and bedding arrangements gave us great flexibility and meant the young couple had a secluded room off the more formal lounge room and my 18 year old niece had a room to herself. While there was only one bathroom, there were 2 toilets and all that was required was a bit of negotiation as to the order of showers after skiing, while sipping a beer/wine, snacking or catching up on social media! The house has a small but well equipped kitchen (we cooked Christmas dinner with all the usual trimmings for 9! And our discussions with other skiers indicated they either didn't have a kitchen or it was so small they couldn't cook at all), a large dining table with a small lounge area and tatami room (which we used as a bedroom) and the more formal lounge area with TV, plus drying room and entrance area. The house is located in Echoland and while that means a shuttle bus ( bus stop is 3 mins from the house) to the various ski mountains, Happo One, Hakuba 47 and others, it is only short ride and the big benefit is there are many many great restaurants 2 to 5 minutes walk away, plus a small convenience store and bakery. Now to comment on Desmond and Hero who run Black Bear Properties - they are wonderful! They picked us up from the Information Centre and at the end of our stay dropped us at the train station. Also as we didn't have any transport Desmond drove us to the main supermarket so we could stock up for the week. He gave us an hour then came and picked us up! Another time he came to my rescue and drove me to 3 different locations until I was able to get cash out as the 7Eleven machines were temporarily not working! But the stand out special touch was when he arrived with a Christmas Tree and decorations for us to put our Kris Kringle's under. We had some TV and Internet issues which they responded to immediately. To sum up we had a very special Christmas week in a great place combined with Desmond's and Hero's excellent service.
