“A great family place to stay”

We stayed with a group of ten and still room to spare. Blackbear properties were wonderful and assisted us on a number of occasions. Their staff go the extra mile. Recommend the pre arrival shopping list - your food is all their for you on arrival. Snow is great and close to coffee shops.

“Fantastic house for a large group”

10 of us (4 couple 2singles) stayed in this fantastic house in February this year. We all had our own private room with comfortable beds. The living area was bright and airy looking out to the snow - including a family of about 20 snow monkeys.! The house is warm and inviting. The staff at Blackbear Properties need to be congratulated as their service was 2nd to none. All questions were answered in a timely manner from the time we enquired about booking the house till the time we left. Desmond and his crew picked us up from the bus station and drove us to the house where our preordered groceries were on display on the table and in the fridge. The kitchen has all the appliances to cook at home. They took us shopping half way through our stay to top up supplies and also helped us buy our tickets to Kyoto. They came and helped us late one night when we accidentally turned off the heating! The hotel down the road -(100metre) Hotel Oak Forest-has and onsin that we went to for ¥600. This is where you catch most of the buses to the ski fields but get to Tsugaike you have to walk about 600 metres. The restaurant area is about 800 to 1km walk. The busses to ski-fields are small and crowded so it was good to be the first pickup spot. All in all it was a fabulous experience!! Thanks to all the staff at Blackbear Properties!

“I want to go back!!!”

We stayed at Hakuba Echo Villa before Christmas and really enjoyed our stay. We went with a large group of 10 Adults, 2 Kids, and 1 Baby. The house is about a 4 1/2 hour drive from Haneda Airport. Each family had their own room and the home did not seem crowded. The kitchen had excellent appliances (a variety of wine glasses, plenty of dishes, bottle openers, etc.). The house is a short walk (10 minutes) to cafes, restaurants, and bars. The snow shuttle picks up down the street from house making the trip to the snow easy. I stayed in the first floor room and loved the heated floor.

“Excellent place for a large group”

We stayed here over a long weekend with 12 people and loved it. The location was good, within a 10-15 minute walk to several restaurants/bars but still in a quiet neighborhood and only about a 10-15 drive to Happo-One. The house was great with a large living room/dining room area that allowed for all 12 of us to relax and hang out in the same room together. The bedrooms were nice and the kitchen was well supplied with the dishes and utensils that we required. I thought that with only two bathrooms it might be a challenge, but it actually worked just fine since the toilets are both separated from the shower area. The property manager, Desmond, was great and very helpful whenever I had questions. I highly recommend renting from Black Bear Properties if you are going to Hakuba.
