“The perfect Snow accommodation small groups up to 10”

Yama House is located in the heart of Echoland just a 10 minute taxi ride or a transfer pre booked with Desmond from Black Bear Properties with easy access to all of Hakuba's mountains via free shuttle bus just 100 meters away. We were a group of 3 couples and one single with room to spare with 5 bedrooms and open planed kitchen / dining / lounge and a large carpark for our hire car. Individually controlled heating in every room kept us toasty warm. Two modern rain shower type showers and traditional Japanese bathroom with a lovely deep bath to soak those aching muscles after a day in the powder. A large LCD TV with Apple TV was a nice touch and was surprising easy to use and free fast wifi enabled us to make sure all of our friend back home The main street of Echoland has many bars and restaurants and ski hire all within walking distance. Although we used Central Snowsports in Happo One. (They pick you up from your accommodation to be fitted out then drop you back, they also come back to collect the gear after your stay. Such a great service) We had hired a car to travel to the mountains but found that while having a car was convenient we often used the bus as it was so close and dropped us off right out the front of the lifts without the need to park the car. We can’t wait to return to Yama house next year.

“Our first trip to Hakuba with a young child was a success!”

Our first trip to Hakuba with a young child was a success! We had five adults and a four year old in our group. Yama House more than catered for our group. The house is really spacious and well equipped. Cosy and warm after a day on the mountain. The two showers make getting ready easy. Lots of great places in Echoland to eat or a quiet drink, "Sounds Like Cafe" at the end of the street has a great chicken burger. Plenty of great Japanese available for meals too. Having the house made it easy to stay in a couple of nights and cater for ourselves. Thanks Desmond for arranging the transfer to Hakuba station on departure. Great service. We'll be back next year.

“Simply the best Property in Hakuba”

We have been coming to Hakuba for over 7 years now, have stayed everywhere, from Goryu - Happo one -Wadano, stayed in hotels, lodges, backpacker - traditional, all I can say is I wish we had tried this earlier. Yama House is perfect, newly renovated, we had five adults and a 4 yr old, no probs, with a spare two bedrooms left over. It had three bathrooms, one was a brilliant massive bath tub and Japaneese shower, the others were western style. Kitchen worked well, with a really great idea of an extra veg cooler built into the kitchen floor, we used it for all our beer and wine with a shovel of snow on top. Super fast unlimited wifi and Apple TV / Cable also. Our room for two was super warm as it got down to -8 one night, the rest of the house was a toasty 21c inside all day. The house was only a 50m walk to the best cafes and Resturaunts in Hakuba including the famous 'Sounds Like Cafe' literally on the corner of our street. Lots of Great food places in Hakuba and we have been to most of them over the years, this house has them all as close as you can get with the bonus of being located down a quiet side street of beautiful cedars and private homes. We felt like we were very privileged to have got a last minute booking. The bus stop is at the end of the street, can't get any closer if you tried. Have already booked again next year for 4 weeks!

“Great property, great company”

This 5 bedroom house was perfect for our group comprising two families of 4. It is very spacious and has been recently renovated and has everything required for self-catering. The extra deep bath was perfect for a good soak after a hard day on the mountain. Desmond was the best property manager we've ever dealt with and nothing was too much trouble. We had some injuries and Desmond was super helpful in helping getting us to the clinic and helping with translations and arranging special transport for us! Loved the grocery delivery service and having all lift tickets, lesson etc arranged prior to our arrival. Lots of great restaurants and things to do in Echoland.
